A History Of Pheromones
Many researchers have questioned whether or not human pheromones or the lack of could have caused major changes in {historyour history}. Some say yes while others argue against the idea, that humans are not ruled by scents alone so their place in history cannot be altered by it. Humans are unlike animals and insects that are completely controlled by scent signals that they receive from insects or animals within their own species.
In the past, it was not uncommon for people to go extensive periods without bathing or cleaning of any sort. Because scent signals are boosted by the amount of sweat on an individuals body, it is believed that the more “dirty” an individual was, the stronger that their pheromone signal was. Pheromone signals can create bonds between a woman and a man, or a woman and her husband, meaning that when the scent signals are around at a consistent level, the bond will last.
However, once folks began to wash on a more regular basis, the bond between a man and a woman began to decay. For example, when the Romans Empire started, women and men held their wedding vows above all. But, once the Roman Empire became its greatest, and bathing was advocated at meetings each day at the local municipal baths, the divorce rate jumped to a high number. Many researchers believe that the divorce rate was in direct correlation to the fact that the Romans were bathing on a daily basis and thereby were removing their personal pheromone signals.
Because there has been studies into this area, it is now normal practice to utilize products that will imitate natural scents. The key to using oils or products to enhance or create a pheromone signal is to use more than a dab, but not a lot as to be considered over-bearing. Another thing to remember is to not use multiple fragrances. When multiple fragrances are used the scent signal that is given off can become very disorientating. Most products are used in order to entice someone of the other sex and they can be huge confidence boosters when searching for a potential bedmate.
Academics and scientists have hit yet another debate in regards to human pheromones. Some believe that the rise and fall of great nations such as the Roman Empire is a direct result of scents or the lack thereof. Others are not so quick to accept this stand because there are other reasons that can be tied to the fall of said nations. However, it is known that pheromone signals are what ties someone to another and if that chemical is nonexistent or diminishes over time, the physiological reactions of others will also decrease. The use of merchandise, whether it is oils or perfumes have become commonly used in order to imitate the body’s natural pheromones.
