Midwifery in the 21st century

One way of delivering a baby is by hiring a midwife. It may not be as common as delivering in a hospital but it is already gaining popularity among mothers. The reason why it is not as popular is maybe because a lot of people think it is not safe. This means that not a lot of technology used on pregnant mothers are used in this method. And since there is no use or less use of technology involved people think that it is not safe. That is why in this article we would be looking at the technological advances that midwifery made to cope up with modern times.

Well as a midwife in San Diego I know first hand that midwives are starting to use more technology.Although natural way of delivering a baby should be the main goal of midwifery. It is still possible to incorporate some technology in this practice. An ultrasound is one technology that midwives also use.The reason for this is so that a midwife can also determine the gender of the baby.

Another advancement that is being done in my midwives San Diego service is that we do have emergency equipment at birth.Things that will resuscitate a living thing. And many more emergency tools and equipments that may be needed at times. These things for emergency purposes negate the argument of other people that midwifery is not safe.

Another advance being done with my San Diego waterbirth service is the waterbirth kits being used.  Waterbirths are when you have the baby in water. The kits help in making the delivery easier. It will also make it safer for the mother and the baby during the delivery itself.

As you can see midwifery is more advanced now and safer than what people think of it.The method is just more natural as compared to hospital delivery but the practice has advanced also.  This all leads to the fact that having a baby at home and with a midwife is safer then you think. The emergency tools make it as safe as delivering a baby in the hospital. So rest assured that homebirthing is a safe way to deliver your babies.
