Two Young Professors Take Off For The Weekend

The two popular teachers strolled on campus, chatting about the students and their own plans for summer trips. Walking past one of the students both knew, they noticed he must have been working out lately. One said to the other, that she noticed considerable muscle growth since she last saw him.

They seem to change so fast they both agreed. It is a pretty area with flower gardens and mature trees. The students are mostly decent kids. A little gossip among the girls vying for the boy’s attention is as bad as it gets on this campus.

They had both seen the girls hitting on the male professors up to age fifty even. Some were actually love-struck. Others were doing it for an A in his class.

They joked about being cougars now and would any students hit on them. They agreed they would have a hard time handling a situation like that. Hopefully it won’t happen.

Another student rode past them on his schwinn mountain bike. They nodded as he smiled. Spring is really here they said to each other. There goes a girl on roller skates. Time for picnics and beer parties outside and daydreaming in class.

To the teachers, it meant preparing for exams and reading paper after paper. They related stories of students who had obviously purchased their term papers. Both had experienced that more than once in their careers.

The kids should know we could judge whether a young student wrote a paper or an accomplished freelance writer. They spend up to $300 for someone to write the paper. They don’t realize they are cheating themselves out of education they will need to build on later.

They reminisced about arrests on campus, usually for underage drinking. Some of these kids could care less about education. They even drink in the dorms they agreed, shaking their heads.

Next topic was the Emo kids and their wild outfits. They dyed their hair black and striped it with pink and purple. The boys wear make-up and thick eye make-up. What characters.

It is the Goths that scare me they thought. There are those who actually drink blood as wannabee vampires. They are so dark and fascinated with sadness. Sad for young people.

They discussed the danger of sadness leading to suicide as they approached the parking lot. Saying goodbye, one told the other about the best golf instruction book she expected to read before Sunday. She hoped the ground was dry enough for a few rounds. They said goodbye, got in their cars and drove home for the weekend.
