From Anger To Peace Of Mind
Anger is a serious problem for one in every five Americans and often leads to divorce. Road rage, workplace violence, domestic abuse and not to mention addiction may be just some of its many expressions. The reason such a large umber of our own nation?s citizens may be on antidepressants, overweight, and even involved in all kinds of difficult relationships might be directly traced into the effects of anger, particularly the covert kind.
Anger has several faces. It appears in various forms and creates diverse consequences. Anger that is definitely clear is the simplest to overcome and comprehend. When we or someone we know is openly outraged, we know what we are up against and could address it promptly. Unfortunately, however, nearly all anger lurks beneath the surface. It often couldn’t come to our awareness and manifests in endless, covert ways ? as depression, unease, apathy, hopelessness, and in myriad other forms.
Nowadays we fear all kinds of external enemies. It is not so easy to realize, however, which the worse enemy we face is the anger which resides inside us, the terror it causes and the ways this particular poison affects so much in our lives. It is one thing to be told to forgive one another. It is another to know how to do this. Even though we may want to forgive, anger could be cruel in the course it takes, attacking as well as disrupting our body, mind and even spirits. However, there s lots of exact steps we might take to root this poison out of our lives.
As we do the outcome can be reflected not only in our mental or emotional well-being, but also in our environment and even physical wellbeing. Once anger is rooted out, love as well as forgiveness appear naturally and our lives and relationships become all they are meant to be.
Some of The 24 Forms of Anger ?
The first idea in rooting anger out from our lives is becoming aware of it. It is crucial that we know anger for what it is, be informed that it is appearing and even perceive the devastation it creates. When anger is permitted to continue camouflaged it holds us in its grip as well as certainly erodes the quality of our entire lives. By acknowledging the 24 forms of anger, we will be able to shine a flashlight on the poison inside. Then we might choose to eliminate each one of these forms of anger, one per day. There are many great antidotes which we could take. Instead of letting anger to take hold, we purely swap it with a life giving, constructive, curative response. To begin we may take a look at a few of the 24 forms of anger, and even how it affects your life. More will be explored in more articles and are also detailed in The Anger Diet.
In this article we may also explore many ways these forms of anger can be eliminated. 1)Straightforward Anger ? Attack. This is anger that is clear-cut or easy to recognize. The anger comes right out. Many lament it afterwards, feeling they couldn?t control themselves. This particular kind of anger has a life of its own; it rises like a instant storm and can easily change into verbal, emotional or physical abuse.2)Hypocrisy ? You are outraged, however cover it beneath a smile as well as show a falsepersona, pretending to be somebody you?re not. This behavior evolves into bad faith of all kinds. Though anybody think you are fooling others, in fact you are losing yourself and your own self-respect.3)Depression ? Depression is so pervasive right now, and it ranges the gamut from mild to severe. Depression is anger or rage turned against oneself It comes from not being able to connect or appropriately convey the anger one is feeling. It then simply turns into depressions, attack against the person who is experiencing it.4)Passive Aggression ? This is a form of anger spoken not by what we do but by what we do not do. We refuse to give the other person what they ask for, want or need. In this particular way we anger the other whereas making it look as though they are the one that is overly demanding. This is a way of expressing anger without taking responsibility for it, as well as blaming the other for what we have set in motion.
Actions To Dissolving Anger
Needless to say there are various exact steps to take to undo diverse forms of anger. We may provide a number of samples. The important point to realize is that anger may be dissolved in a moment. We can opt to see things in a different manner. We can choose to create a totally different answer.
It takes only a flash to escalate a situation or in that same flash, the trouble may be de-escalated. We must stop in the center of routine anger that arises, and even take charge of what on earth is going on. We can as well as must determine that we will not let anger take over and even rule. We have the right and responsibility to opt how we will respond.
Example Ways To De-Escalate Anger:
1)Straightforward Attack: Stop in the midst of a situation in which you either feel fuming or are being attacked. Develop your vistas. Rather than answer in a knee-jerk mode, say to yourself, ?Like me, this particular being has suffered. Like me, this person wants to be pleased, like me this person experiences loneliness and even loss.? As you do this, you are acknowledging the similarities and even similar humanity you share, rather than focus on the differences. For a jiffy, allow the person to be right. You have plenty of time to be right later. Ask yourself, what exactly is more important to you, to be ?right? or to be free of anger? Opt compassion and even view how you feel.View how the other feels also. Watch new vistas open in your life.2)Hypocrisy: This is a frequent form of anger that appears in many different habits. When you perceive yourself pretending, lying, exaggerating or deceiving, halt. Tell the truth at that moment. Be the truth. If you do not know what the sincerity is, be silent as well as become informed of just what deepest fact is for your needs. (This will not mean pouring out negativity or blaming the other. It means taking responsibility for what exactly is real and even true for you. (This will not only restore good will, it will connect you with what exactly is most meaningful in your life.)3)Depression: Make friends with yourself these days. When we are depressed, we are rejecting, hating or blaming ourselves. Undo this false condition of mind. Find five things you admire or respect about who you are. Focus on sharing your fine qualities with another. In depression we are only absorbed with ourselves. A wonderful antidote would be to become absorbed with how you can reach out to and even help another. As we root anger out from our lives, or find meaningful substitutions not only our lives but the lives of our loved ones, friends and acquaintances will be lifted and enhanced. The powerful mind and sports
One of the things we always think about with sports is how great athletes are physically. They are very athletically gifted and that is true. But one thing that gets underestimated is the mind’s power. How powerfully the mind can contribute to success many people don’t realize. But just looking at the professional sports and you can see this is true. You have examples of great athletes who end up not succeeding in sports. It wasn’t because of their physical gifts. In most cases it was the weakness of their mind. So in this article we are going to look at how you can use the mind to succeed in sports.
First of all this advice is coming from years of experience as a sports psychologist San Diego. From many years of working with athletes I have seen that the ones who excel are the ones who can get their minds together. That is very important in competitive sports.Since those who are prepared can conquer those of equal athletic strength with greater mind power.
Next what do they need to do in order to make use this mind power? To help you tap into your mind power there are a lot of courses you can buy.But if you really want to excel the best bet is to get a counselor to help you. In my family counselor San Diego practice I have seen how working with a counselor helps the athlete really apply what they have learned.
Finally sometimes in sports one of the hardest emotions to fight is anger. And in sports anger could be one thing that could not allow you to perform well when you are in competition. Because of that in my anger management San Diego services I have incorporated help in this area. This has helped many athletes improve as well.
So there you have the secret to success in sports. You can succeed in sports if you master your mind.
Counseling and how it can help in treating depression
Depression is one of the most problematic emotions that a human can have.If you went through it already you know that it is not an easy thing to go through. And it would be worse when the depression becomes more serious. It may be caused by a traumatic event. It can also be caused due to a death in the family. It can also be caused by several other things. But the key to solving this is to know when the right time to go seek help.
Now the help I am talking about is using a depression counseling sevice to help. Of course when you are in need of one is when it really starts to affect things in your life. When your job is affected already is an example fo this. Or it can affect how you relate to other people. Why you need to seek help is because depression is one of those problems where a person can hurt themselves. And determining if they have reached that point already is very hard. So counseling must be used.
Another bad thing caused by depression is when the afflicted person gets angry always. Sometimes depression is where a person feels like there is a part of their life out of their control. If that happens they would feel angry at the world for whatever reason. This is when they would need anger management San Diego services.Because you do not want a depression case to develop into chronic anger. That would be the time when other people can get hurt.
You should start counseling immediately if these things are experienced by you.Because this depression of yuors can be treated by this counseling. With my family counselor San Diego service I try to help people in this area. And sometimes what they need is someone who can understand what they are going through. This is one way they can overcome their depression.
Depression is a serious emotional condition. If left to itself it has bad consequences.Undergoing counseling would help one to overcome those things.
Secrets of a successful athlete
Great athletes are one of the things that we enjoy to watch. It would seem like that some of their moves at times are impossible for a human to do. But in reality some of the champions are no better then their competition physically. The secret to top performances is in the mind. What most people don’t realize is that people succeed or fail based upon how strong their mindset is.
Let us consider some cases. As a family counselor San Diego I see it all the time with student athletes. You witness kids who are gifted physically. But most of the time they fail to capitalize on their gifts because they are not confident due to weak mental toughness. We witness it all the time in professional sports. You have great athletes who repeatedly fail to win the big game. Even though they are the best at their game. When the chance to win it all has presented itself to them, they still can’t do it. The ones that do succeed are the ones that realize the importance of mind and body.
That is why as a sports psychologist San Diego I have so many clients come in who need a breakthrough. They are gifted physically but for some reason can’t capitalize on it.Most of the time the reason is because they are mentally inferior. That is where my service can help struggling athletes like them. Because a lot of times it is a mental block they need to beat.Once they have hurdled that then they can be successful.
Anger is another problem that I see in young athletes that can hinder their success. If they can’t control their emotions then they can’t perform well leading to poor performances. Doing anger management San Diego has allowed me to turn athletes around who were letting anger get the best of them. But if they just find some help mentally then that just might be the key for their success.
Tips on how one can control his/her anger
Everyone experiences anger. Everyone at some point loses their control of their anger. It is but natural to happen. What’s not good about it is when they become angry always. That is when it can become hurtful to those you love. But not only can it be hurtful emotionally, but physically as well.Knowing that it could affect other people here are some tips in controlling your anger.
Controlling one’s anger is difficult to do. That is why my anger management counseling practice gets so many people with anger issues. But there is still hope. Even though it seems uncontrollable there are some things you can do to control it.First thing you must do is to admit that you are stressed. Stress is one of the leading causes of anger. By being aware of stress you can be better prepared to respond to situations that could lead to anger.
Another way to deal with anger is to learn to respond rather than react. It is one of the biggest techniques I teach for my family counselor San Diego practice. What I meant was that you should think about how you would react before reacting.By thinking first about how you would react would lead to a better response. So that you won’t be reacting violently.
Another thing that causes anger is depression. Usually if something depresses someone it can lead to anger. It causes anger because a depressed person feels like he or she is useless. I see this all the time doing depression counselor. So you fight this by addressing the situation that is causing depression.
If you follow these few tips it should help you deal with any anger problems.Anger can be hard to control. That is why a lot of people suffer from anger issues. But by understanding the problems that affect you, you can fight those emotions off of you.And in doing so, you will not let anger hurt you or your loved ones.
The problems of emotions such as anger and depression
One of the things that can sometimes be good or, at other times, be very bad is emotions. Things like love, joy, happiness are wonderful emotions. But you also have emotions like anger, sadness, and depression. They are also kinds of emotions but they are harder to carry around and handle.People are able to control it most of the time. But there are situation where these emotions can be dangerous.
One example is depression that is tough to overcome. It might be due to some tragic event that happened in someone’s life.Tragedies or events like losing a loved one can trigger it. Or sometimes it can be a chemical imbalance. One dangerous emotion that was shown in the news one time is when a man’s depression became and turned into an emotion called anger. His situation seemed hopeless to him and so that his depression turned to anger. He was enraged, went berserk, and he hurt some people along the way. That is an extreme case but it happens. That is why as a depression counseling I try to tackle the problem head on before it can turn into anger.
Well the times it does turn into anger then you have to move into another form of counseling. And that form is anger management San Diego help.Because unlike depression where the affected person’s mood is always passive.Anger can harm others and can be very dangerous. So if a person is experiencing anger one needs to deal with it immediately before it gets any worse.
Of course in my family counselor San Diego practice I see a full range of emotions.Usually, the cases I see are the ones that are already affecting the family relations. That is when counseling is appropriate. One thing you don’t want to happen is let uncontrollable emotions destroy your family. And the goal of every counselor is to stop it while it is still in its early stages. A good thoughtful counseling program can do that and save many families. It has happened in the past and will still happen with the help of good counseling.

Stop and take a look at yourself when you think you are about to lose it Time has come to stop and look at yourself to determine whether or not you have anger issues. You must get to the cause of things here, so be brutally honest with yourself .Look at yourself from the viewpoint of someone looking at you and ask am I being reasonable, or am I going over the top and overreacting”
The fact that you are asking yourself about your temper shows that you think that you might perhaps have a problem with your temper. Are you prone to urges of breaking anything you can find when you feel like “letting rip”? If your answer is “yes”, prepare to lose your relationship, unless you’re prepared to take steps to try and resolve this problem. Any psychologist running temper control classes will tell you that admitting to yourself that you have a problem with your temper, is the first step towards finding a cure.
We all have a temper, and with it comes a choice – you can choose to pause and take a deep breath, or you can store it up inside until you feel you’ve been pushed too far, at which time you go off like a volcano. Next time you feel those destructive desires beginning, try and riegn yourself in, stop. Breath deeply and evenly for about 10 seconds and then see if you feel calmer – think of a fish, opening it’s mouth slowly, but regularly – that’s how your breathing should be. For fairly insignificant things this method should work, but what about the larger and more annoying things?.
Just to remind you of a great free site dealing with this and other related issues, check out Anger Management Guide
Ponder (whilst chilling) – what have you ever achieved when you lost it?. This is logic, use it. You’re only damaging yourself and the way others see you. What do you think of others when you see them out of control? They’re acting stupid right Do you want people to watch you and draw that conclusion too? This method gets results because you begin to look at yourself from the outside. So, stop, think, set aside your temper and use some logic. This method works, but you have to actually make an effort!
So, next time you feel like taking a gun to your bank, make the decision to stop and count to ten. Try turning the situation into something funny and attempt to and laugh it off – you will when you see how annoying you are being!.
